Wi-Fi Wishbook FAQ

Will the Wi-Fi Wishbook offer any products or services that compete with what I offer?

We will work hard to make sure it does not. The built-in four optional pages will allow participants to choose from our menu of pages featuring content specific to their equipment provider, security offerings and streaming partners. Participants will be given a list of all the connected devices and services we plan to feature in the shared content, along with a deadline by which to alert us of any conflicts.

Who is eligible to participate?

The Wi-Fi Wishbook is open to independent broadband providers who A) already work with Pioneer or B) do not compete/overlap with Pioneer members offering broadband. Pioneer is committed to only publishing the Wi-Fi Wishbook for one provider in each market. Outside of Pioneer’s membership, we’ll take participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Each year, past participants will have the right of first refusal if another provider asks to participate in the publication.

Will the Wi-Fi Wishbook be an annual publication?

Yes. Based on popular support, we plan to publish every holiday season, with potential additional editions targeting other high-upsell opportunities such as the start of summer or back-to-school season.

We already do a magazine with Pioneer. Can this replace my November/holiday issue?

For our existing broadband magazines, it certainly can. For electric magazines, it might be more complicated, especially depending on whether your mailing list only includes those eligible to subscribe to your broadband service. But let’s discuss options.

We already do a magazine with our association or another vendor. Can this replace that for one issue?

Likely no. Due to your contract, mailing list and magazine brand, it’s likely that the Wi-Fi Wishbook would need to be supplemental in addition to your other publication.

Will Pioneer help me promote the Wi-Fi Wishbook?

Yes, our package includes at least six social media posts for you to use. Even more custom promotion is available with an additional agreement.

Will the Wi-Fi Wishbook allow me to become a cooperative member of Pioneer?

Sadly, no. Not yet. Becoming a member owner of Pioneer requires an ongoing service contract such as a regularly published magazine, web hosting, social media support or a marketing agreement.

Does Pioneer know what it’s doing with a publication like this?

Yes! Our team has been helping market internet service through print publications since blazing-fast 56k dial-up in 1996. We produce more than 1.5 million engaging magazines for utilities and broadband providers in our peak months. That includes more than 20 editions of our Regional Telco Magazine which started more than a decade ago.

I already publish a magazine with Pioneer and don’t want to lose my local pages. Will the Wi-Fi Wishbook take the place of all November/Winter issues?

No. Participation in the Wi-Fi Wishbook is optional. Existing telco magazine participants will have the option to either participate fully in the Wi-Fi Wishbook, participate but retain their eight local pages or keep their existing winter edition without any differences. The Wi-Fi Wishbook is an opportunity for telco magazine participants to add an additional eight pages (24 vs 16) for only 6.5 cents per copy.
