Dennis McFee is a transformational leader, experienced board member, and dedicated civil servant in the public power and utility industry, recognized for his commitment to operational excellence, community impact, and organizational growth. As Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of the Public Service Commission of Yazoo City, he leads a multi service utility providing electric, water, and wastewater services to the citizens of Yazoo City. His leadership is defined by a strong focus on reliability, innovation, and customer service, ensuring that essential services are delivered efficiently while continuously improving system performance and resiliency.
McFee began his career in the utility industry as an apprentice lineman, an experience that shaped his leadership philosophy and grounded his approach in respect for every role within an organization. Over the course of his career, he has advanced through key leadership positions, including serving as Vice President of Member Services, Marketing, and Public Relations at Roanoke Cooperative and Manager of Member Services at Yazoo Valley Electric Power Association. Across these roles, he built a reputation for strengthening customer engagement, improving operational processes, and leading high performing teams.
Throughout his tenure, McFee has led strategic initiatives that drive measurable impact. He spearheaded The Power Project, a comprehensive effort to improve system reliability and resiliency through infrastructure upgrades, vegetation management, and technology investments. His leadership during major events such as Winter Storm Fern demonstrated his ability to manage crisis response, coordinate mutual aid partnerships, and maintain clear communication with the public and stakeholders. He has also championed innovative programs such as employee driven community support initiatives and workforce development efforts that enhance both service delivery and organizational culture.
As an experienced board member, McFee has contributed to governance and strategic direction across multiple organizations, bringing a disciplined approach to oversight, financial stewardship, and long-term planning.
