Your favorite selfie contest, Content in the Wild, is back! And this year it doubles as part of Pioneer’s 70th birthday party.
We’re celebrating 70 years of cooperative storytelling in October by spotlighting how we write, design and publish stories together. Every selfie you send us, from truck wraps and magazine covers to social posts, proves that 70 years later, co-op-powered storytelling is growing strong.
We can’t mail you a slice of cake, but we’re giving away a $50 REI gift card every week to one of the folks who takes the time to send us a selfie. The sooner you send us your shot, the better your chances of winning!
Not sure where to start? Last year, magazine selfies were popular, with winning shots featuring Ruralite, Tennessee Connections and KIUC Currents. We also saw selfies with signs, socks, shirts and social media support—everything you need to stay cozy this fall. What kind of content did you create with Pioneer this year? Odds are you’ve got it handy, and we’d love to see a picture of you with it in the wild!

What content will YOU catch?
The Rules:
First, find content in the wild! It could be banners, yard signs, a podcast, a magazine, social content, efficiency kit, community booth, vehicle wrap. You get the picture—literally and figuratively.
Take a selfie showcasing a print and/or digital project created with support from Pioneer and/or one of our family of service partners: Efficiency Services Group, General Pacific, Peak Solutions and NewsData.
- Post it on social, and tag us @UtilityPioneers or
- Email the selfie to hello@pioneer.coop. Include:
- Pictured person’s name, title and utility.
- A short description of the content and how it helps share your story.
- Email address and telephone number.
- Type “I captured content in the WILD!” in the subject line.
- Send digital JPEG or PNG files.
- Photos should be horizontal, or landscape format, and at least 300 dpi at 6 inches tall.
- Our server hates files larger than 10 MB. We’ve sent it to server therapy, but we’re still waiting for a breakthrough. Act accordingly.
You’re entered into a random drawing every Thursday from Sept. 3 to Oct. 29.
