Kathy Denes

Kathy joined Pioneer in 2018, keeping to the career path that began at the University of Alabama student newspaper, where she was chief copy editor. She’s been a reporter and copy editor at newspapers from Florida to California, a magazine managing editor, a book author and a longtime freelance editor. Side jobs sprinkled in the mix range from substitute teacher to muscadine farmer.

She and her husband, Laz, also a career journalist, have two “grown” daughters and way too many pets.
