HILLSBORO, Oregon — Pioneer Utility Resources has named award-winning cooperative communications leader Becky Mashburn as Vice President of Member Experience.
Mashburn, who has worked at Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) in Montrose, Colorado since 2015, will join Pioneer in early October. She is currently the marketing and communications director for DMEA, serving the cooperative’s electric service and its Elevate Internet subsidiary.
“Becky brings a unique blend of both electric and broadband marketing experience, an understanding of what is needed from a marketing and communications partner and a deep commitment to helping Pioneer carry out its ‘We Serve So That Others Can Shine’ business philosophy,” Pioneer CEO Michael Shepard said. “She is going to be a game-changing addition to our already-outstanding team and will help take the way we serve our members to the next level.”
Mashburn will initially oversee Pioneer’s creative design and account management teams.

At DMEA, Mashburn was a primary contributor in launching the cooperative’s startup fiber broadband business, Elevate Internet, including branding, sales and marketing, communications, and grant funding. She and her team at DMEA have received numerous accolades, including the 2017 National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s Edgar F. Chesnutt Award for best total communication program. Prior to DMEA, Mashburn spent 6 years at San Miguel Power Association.
