Ruth Marks serves as CEO of Mountain View Electric Association. As MVEA’s 8th chief executive officer in its 84-year history, Marks oversees 170 employees, 57,000 members, 6,500 miles of energized line and a budget of more than $150 million. Her responsibilities include delivering on the strategic objectives of the cooperative, managing an array of special projects including a system-wide fiber deployment, and representing MVEA at numerous national, state and local engagements.

Before joining MVEA in 2022, she was the vice president of transmission maintenance at Tri-State Generation and Transmission, a wholesale power supplier. She led a team of transmission line, substation and telecom technicians located throughout Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, and Wyoming. She has been in the electric cooperative business for over 30 years and previously served as the chief operations officer at United Power before joining Tri-State in 2011.

Marks has served on various boards and committees and has received numerous industry awards and leadership accolades. She lives in Black Forest, Colorado, with her dog, cats and horses, and enjoys riding, hiking and being a new grandma in her free time.
